Art is a passion of mine and has been waiting on the sidelines for my full time attention for many years. Art came in the form of part-time work from home when the children were younger, and then as an inspiration in my career as a teacher. Art as a medium has captured the hearts of many of my pupils over the years and has stayed with me into adulthood.

I have become entranced by the everyday scenes of life and the way in which colour, light and shade can transform a mundane everyday scene into a work of beauty. I am fascinated with the way in which colours sit together, pushing forward and pulling back, altering atmosphere, understanding and the way in which we view the world.

Having travelled extensively with my husband I still come back to the comfort of home. The views of the north east are an inspiration for my pastel and acrylic paintings. Northscape has provided me with an opportunity to share these scenes with the people of the north east.

A portfolio of my pictures is available here.
